Jim joined Raymond James in 2009 as a Financial Advisor for the Toms River, NJ office. He has over 20 years of experience as a Financial Advisor providing his clients with knowledgeable guidance and exceptional customer service. Jim began his career in 1997 as a Financial Advisor and Financial Planning Specialist with Smith Barney where he partnered with his father, James Capen Sr., for 12 years. He is passionate about helping his clients through life’s many transitions by bringing a custom approach to investing that is in line with their unique circumstances and goals.
Jim graduated from Montclair State University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He currently maintains his Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life, health and variable annuity licenses.
Originally from Montclair, NJ, Jim currently resides in Toms River, NJ with his wife Karen and their three sons. When he is not working with clients, Jim enjoys playing golf, jet skiing, and spending time with his boys on the soccer field.
